My son feels totally empowered after completing his RadKIDS training. Not only does he know how to dial 911 confidently, but he also knows how to quickly and effectively draw attention to and get away from dangerous adults and/or situations. Most importantly, radKIDS helped us continue some important conversations about the safety of my son and his own body and boundaries. Annie is an amazing teacher and is very skilled at connecting with kids in a fun but also serious and meaningful way.
I've had the chance to partner with Annie and her organization, Teaching Hands, initially when COVID sent students to learn remotely. Annie took the time to learn about our mentorship program, Rainier Athletes, and about the needs of the Rainier Athletes students. She then found creative opportunities for these students to join small group learning pods and supported them not just in their academic growth but also to get much needed in person connection. We worked together to overcome barriers such as cost and transportation. Annie’s thoughtful, caring and passionate personality led to positive relationships built not just with myself but also with the students, their parents/guardians and other important people in each student’s lives. I very much value Annie’s perspective and have continued to connect with her informally over the past few years to bounce ideas and learn from her experience!
